Machtum: Départ/Start: Tourist information board

The walk leads past some beautiful wine-growers' houses in the direction of the Haangeberg. You follow the yellow rectangles up to the hilltop. At the viewing point you can enjoy a distant view over the bend in the River Moselle and the Luxembourg villages of Machtum, Grevenmacher and Mertert. Opposite Machtum, on the German side of the river lies Nittel, and downstream Wellen and Temmels. Just as noteworthy are the steep rock formations on both sides of the Moselle. The walk leads over the hilltop, with its broad views of the Moselle landscape, the Grevenmacher Woods to the radio towers in Junglinster, down again and back to Machtum.
